About the opportunity
GML is seeking a proactive, commercially minded Finance Manager to join our Sydney-based team and drive financial excellence across our business.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver timely, accurate monthly financial reports.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support informed decision-making.
- Assist the CFO with annual budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, audits, and Board reporting.
- Act as a trusted business partner to consulting and business units, providing insights and recommendations for strategic planning and business development.
- Lead as Finance’s representative on ERP (NetSuite) implementation and optimisation projects.
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements (FBT, payroll tax, superannuation, BAS, IAS, etc.).
- Review and approve payroll, and support process improvement across billing, WIP, and revenue recognition.
- Train and upskill finance and consulting staff on new systems and processes.
- Drive automation and efficiency in reporting and month-end procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory changes.
- Support special projects, business case development, and cross-functional initiatives as required.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce or finance.
- CA or CPA membership.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a professional services (preferably consulting) environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in ERP systems (ideally Oracle NetSuite) – scoping, design, implementation, and integration.
- Advanced Excel and BI tool proficiency, with experience in complex financial modelling.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across business units.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results within tight deadlines.
- Change management and end-user training experience highly regarded.
- Flexible, adaptable, and self-motivated.
