GML Heritage is proud to be sponsoring a talk on Monday 15 April–‘Australians and the Marimekko Mystique’–as part of Canberra Modern’s 2019 events included in the Canberra and Region Heritage Festival 2019.
Interior design historian and curator Catriona Quinn will explore the fascinating history of how Australian’s mid-century passion for Marimekko fabrics made us one of their earliest and most important markets for the brand.
Lars Backström, Ambassador of Finland, will introduce the talk, and guests will see fabulous modernist interiors originally designed by Ancher, Mortlock and Murray.
Rachel Jackson, GML Principal, is one of the founders of Canberra Modern, an organisation that aims to celebrate and foster awareness and appreciation of Canberra’s modernist character.
The Canberra Modern program of exciting talks, activities and tours runs throughout April and May 2019. Book now and learn more at Canberra Modern.
