ANU Acton Campus

Heritage Inventory

Australian National University

Canberra, ACT

ANU Acton Campus is located in the heart of Canberra.

GML completed the first comprehensive study of the heritage-listed university grounds, assisting the ANU to manage its built, natural and Indigenous heritage values into the future.

The ANU is steward to a range of important buildings and landscapes, as well as sites valued by Canberra’s Indigenous community.

GML assessed the Acton Campus’ heritage values and prepared a detailed inventory of significant buildings and landscape features.

The inventory assists the ANU to protect heritage features on campus, including University House, the Fellows Garden and University Avenue. Integrated and comprehensive, it ensures the expanding university can maintain its historical buildings and landscapes, while also accommodating new facilities for its students and world-class researchers.

GML also provided heritage input to the masterplan for the campus to guide the protection of heritage items into the future.
