Hamidreza (Hamid) Taravat
Graduate Heritage Consultant
Hamid Taravat is a heritage consultant and conservation engineer specialising in built and cultural heritage. He holds a Master of Conservation Engineering of Cultural Heritage and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
Hamid is experienced in coordinating projects, mitigating risk, and developing sustainable solutions for civil and structural assets. He has delivered advice to a range of private and public sector clients and has worked across World and National heritage sites. Through his industry experience and professional associations, Hamid has an understanding of legislation and regulatory frameworks at the federal, state and local level. His work has involved liaising with government agencies and global organisations including UNESCO and ICOMOS.
Hamid has worked on a range of projects of varying scale in Australia and overseas, primarily in infrastructure and the commercial and residential sectors. His infrastructure experience includes tunnel, bridge, road, metro and rail projects. Hamid is also highly skilled in structural health monitoring (SHM) and structural modelling and analysis of built heritage, and in GIS mapping and surveying systems.
Before joining GML, Hamid was a lecturer at the University of Isfahan, Iran.
