Eames House

Eames House CMP Wins

GML Associate, Jyoti Somerville and former GML Director, now Special Advisor, Sheridan Burke co-authored the award-winning Conservation Management Plan for the Eames House, working with the Getty Conservation Institute.

The Eames House is a National Historic Landmark in Los Angeles, USA.

We were thrilled to hear that the Conservation Management Plan won a 2019 California Preservation Design Award for Cultural Resource Studies.

GML’s involvement with the site began in 2014 when a grant from The Getty Foundation under its ‘Keeping it Modern’ programme, supported the development of a Conservation Management Plan (CMP). As part of this process, GML worked with the Getty Conservation Institute and the Eames Foundation, to develop management principles and practical guidelines based on the internationally recognised Australian CMP model. The Conservation Management Plan was launched in April 2019, at an event attended by Jyoti and Sheridan that coincided with the renowned residence’s 70th anniversary.

The house is open to the public for tours and events, make sure you visit it if you happen to be in LA.
