Celebrating LGBTIQA+ communities and heritage
GML Heritage is excited to celebrate and participate in the Sydney WorldPride festival launching in February.
We’re proud of our diverse and inclusive workplace, and we look forward to celebrating with our colleagues and the #LGBTIQA+ community.
As heritage champions, GML is delighted to hear that the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade route has been added to the State Heritage Register by the NSW Government. The annual parade marks a major milestone in the development of Australia’s history of LGBTIQA+ rights and activism and is part of our living cultural heritage.
We are also honoured to be working with Yarra City Council in Melbourne on the LGBTIQA+ heritage study that will recognise the places, buildings and objects that are of cultural heritage significance to LGBTIQA+ communities.
Community Consultation on the LGBTIQA+ heritage study is now open and will close at 9am on 27 February.
