It’s National Archaeology Week from 19-25 May 2019. To mark the occasion, why not attend one of the talks by GML Principal, Dr Tim Owen. National Archaeology Week is an annual event to increase public awareness and engagement with Australian archaeology.
17 May 2019: Sydney Historical Archaeology Practitioners Workshop
GML Principal Dr Tim Owen will be presenting at the Sydney Historical Archaeology Practitioners (SHAP) Workshop on Friday 17 May 2019 at Sydney University. He will be discussing the discovery of flint at the Randwick Stabling Yard during excavation for Sydney light rail.
SHAP is an annual meeting that brings together students, academics and practitioners to discuss the latest findings, developments and knowledge about historical archaeology in Sydney and beyond. Learn more about how to attend.
22 May 2019: How Archaeology Can Help Future Proof Against Natural Disasters,
Tim will also be presenting at the ‘Sydney Ideas’ programme at Sydney University, addressing how archaeology can unlock insights about how to prepare for climate change. Learn more about the talk and how to register.
