ICOMOS Talk: Heritage, Construction and Fire
Join GML's Catherine Forbes to hear about fire on heritage construction sites.
Many iconic heritage sites around the world have been severely damaged or lost as a result of fire over the last two decades. The Glasgow School of Arts and the recent destruction at Notre Dame are high profile examples. Sadly several other heritage sites have suffered the same fate in Australia and overseas.
Join GML’s Catherine Forbes to hear about fire on heritage construction sites. With specific reference to the Parramatta Public School fire, Catherine will highlight the issues arising during the emergency response to fire in heritage buildings and the new risks that emerge and must be dealt with in the aftermath of fire. Attendees will learn how to prevent, prepare for and mitigate fire risk prior to and during construction.
We are pleased to be hosting the talk on behalf of ICOMOS Australia.
