In an unprecedented heritage alliance, Godden Mackay Logan Pty Ltd (GML) and Jo McDonald Cultural Heritage Management (JMcDCHM) have recently joined forces.
The GML + JMcDCHM collaboration will now set the benchmark for Indigenous heritage consulting services in the Sydney region and throughout Australia, continuing to utilise innovative approaches to the management of Aboriginal cultural heritage.
Working out of GML’s Redfern office, the team includes a number of in-house archaeologists, with an extensive on-call network of subconsultant archaeologists and specialists in related interdisciplinary fields. We continue to have good working relationships with all relevant Indigenous stakeholder groups in the Cumberland Plain area, as well as the Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) (previously DECCW).
Dr Jo McDonald, Managing Director of Jo McDonald CHM Pty Ltd, has more than 27 years’ experience in cultural heritage management. Her experience includes more than 500 studies involving archaeological survey, site assessment, salvage and management. These studies have been at a variety of scales from small individual developments to large regional studies dealing with resource assessment, research and management planning.
While having spent most of her career as a consulting archaeologist, Jo now has a research position at the Australian National University as an ARC Future Fellow. She has spent the last 6 months in a transitionary role with GML, and will continue to provide specialist advice to the team.
