Heritage and Condition AssessmentClient:
GML prepared a Heritage and Condition Assessment of the former Sydenham Station Master’s Residence for RailCorp to assist it in responding to the Joint Regional Planning Panel requirements for a DA for demolition of the residence.
As the residence was not listed as a heritage item, GML’s role was to determine whether it had heritage significance. This involved comparative analysis, fabric analysis and an assessment of significance against the NSW Heritage Criteria. The condition of the property was also assessed to determine future requirements for conservation should the residence be retained. The result was a report that detailed the significance and condition of the property and advice to RailCorp regarding their options for pursuing demolition or conservation.
