Don Godden—MSc

Don Godden, retired founding Partner of Godden Mackay Logan Pty Ltd, is a specialist industrial archaeologist who has written, consulted and taught about industrial heritage for more than 30 years. He continues to work for GML as a specialist consultant on industrial heritage projects. Since the 1980s, Don has served as Chair and member of the Technical Advisory Group of the Heritage Council of NSW and the Industrial Heritage Committee of the National Trust of Australia (NSW).  He is a current member and former alternate member of the Heritage Council of NSW as well as the Vice President of the National Trust of Australia (NSW). Don has also chaired heritage advisory committees of NSW statutory authorities, including the State Rail Authority, Sydney Water and the Roads and Traffic Authority.  He is a renowned international expert in industrial heritage and conservation, with a specialist interest in Australian industrial sites, machinery, plant and industrial infrastructure.

Dr Jo McDonald—BA (Hons) PhD MAACAI

Dr Jo McDonald, the Managing Director of Jo McDonald CHM Pty Ltd has more than 27 years’ experience in cultural heritage management. Her experience includes more than 500 studies involving archaeological survey, site assessment, salvage and management. These studies have been at a variety of scales from small individual developments to large regional studies dealing with resource assessment, research and management planning.

While having spent most of her career as a consulting archaeologist she now has a research position at the Australian National University as an ARC Future Fellow. She is a participant on a number professional archaeological associations and Boards.

Jo has spent the last 6 months in a transitionary role with GML. Since starting the Future Fellowship she is available to provide specialist advice to the new GML and JMcDCHM Team
