David Logan

David Logan, Partner, has qualifications in architecture, heritage conservation and town planning and over 25 years’ experience in heritage management in the private and public sectors. He is a member of the Heritage Council of NSW, the Parramatta (SEPP 65) Design Review Panel, the Heritage Committee of the Australian Institute of Architects (NSW) and the City of Sydney Business Forum.  He is a former Vice President and National Executive Committee member of Australia ICOMOS and was involved in drafting the current version of the Burra Charter.

David has worked on many major redevelopment projects in Sydney including The Bond at Hickson Road, Fox Studios at Moore Park, the Prince Henry site and the former Lidcombe Hospital site. He has undertaken projects across Australia and overseas including a World Heritage monitoring mission to George Town, Malaysia and subsequent advice to ICOMOS and UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee.

Sheridan Burke

Sheridan Burke, Partner, is a conservation planner with 30 years’ experience in cultural resource management.  Her experience includes conservation planning, asset management, cultural tourism interpretation and museum management. Sheridan was formerly the Senior Curator, Manager Property Operations, at the Historic Houses Trust of NSW and a senior policy specialist with the Heritage Council of NSW.  She has been the international vice president of ICOMOS and acts as an expert advisor to the World Heritage Centre of UNESCO. She is president of the ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Twentieth Century Heritage, manages GML’s Defence portfolio work and heads up GML’s Canberra Office.

Professor Richard Mackay, AM—BA (Hons) MBA IMC MAACI

Richard Mackay

Professor Richard Mackay, AM, Partner, has more than 25 years’ experience in cultural resource management.  He is a former Director of the National Trust, a former member of the Heritage Council of NSW and was the inaugural chair of the State Heritage Register Committee.  He was a member of the Australia ICOMOS Burra Charter Working Party and Chair of the (World Heritage listed) Jenolan Caves Reserve.  He is currently the Deputy Chair of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area.  His experience includes participation in more than 500 heritage management and archaeology projects, including roles as team leader, project director and facilitator.

Peter Romey—BArch MICOMOS

Peter Romey

Peter Romey, Partner, has been working in heritage conservation for more than 25 years as a consultant and in government.  From 1999 to 2006 he was Director, Conservation and Infrastructure at the Port Arthur Historic Site in Tasmania, responsible for the application of best practice conservation methodology in conserving a cultural site of international significance.  Peter’s previous roles include Planning Manager responsible for heritage conservation at the City of Sydney, Senior Heritage Specialist and Acting Deputy Manager at the Heritage Branch, Department of Planning, and as an architect in private practice.

Sharon Veale—BA (Hons) MA App History Grad Dip URP

Sharon VealeSharon Veale, Partner, is a historial research and interpretation specialist. Prior to joining GML in 2007, Sharon was the Research Historian in the Cultural Heritage Division, Research Section, Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC) NSW. In that role she was responsible for the design and management of a wide array of landscape based cultural heritage projects.  Sharon has served as a member of the History Advisory Panel and the Interpretation Panel for the NSW Heritage Office.  Prior to 1996, Sharon was a Project Officer at the Royal Australian Institute of Architects, responsible for the Register of Significant Twentieth Century Buildings, and Research Assistant on a large ARC project for Professor Robert Freestone, School of Planning and Urban Development, University of NSW.  She is an Expert Member of the ICOMOS International Scientific Committee for Interpretation and Presentation (ICIP).
